Mimoza Basholli Salihu is Associate Professor in Pharmaceutical Technology and Biotechnology, and Head of Department, Dpt.of Drug analysis and Pharmaceutical Technology, Faculty of Medicine, University of Prishtina. She received her phD degree at University of Prishtina in collaboration with Faculty of Life Sciences, University of Vienna, Austria. Mimoza was head of several scientific projects and has published several peer-review research articles. Currently she is head of research group in several scientific networks EPTRI (European Paediatric Tranlsational Research Infrastructure), NanoAlb (Albanian NanoScience and Nanotechnology Unit, Academy of Science, Albania), and is guest editor at Special Issue "Advances in Age Related Drug Delivery", Pharmaceutics MDPI. Her research group has official scientific collaborations with Institute of Pharmaceutical Science, University of Graz, Austria and Dipartimento Di Farmacia - Scienze Del Farmaco, Università degli Studi di Bari Aldo Moro, Italy. The research focus of her research group is on development of novel nano-drug delivery systems for encapsulation of bioactive compounds in order to improve their bioactivity and stability, leading to increased therapeutic efficacy.

SIlvi Bozo

Silvi Bozo, graduated in Pharmacy in 2012 with honors at Catholic University OLGC, completed her PhD studies in “Public health, molecular diagnosis of infectious diseases and pharmacovigilance” in the same university. After graduating she began her work experience at a Pharmaceutical Industry, as a Specialist in the “Regulatory Affairs” sector and later as a Specialist in the “Quality Assurance” sector. During 2015-2018 she worked as Coordinator of the Degree Course in Pharmacy at Catholic University OLGC and, since 2015, Member of the Department of Chemical-Pharmaceutical and Biomolecular Technologies, Faculty of Pharmacy Catholic University OLGC.

Giuseppe De Rosa

Giuseppe De Rosa is full professor at the Department of Pharmacy, University of Naples Federico II. His scientific activity is focused on drug delivery systems, especially liposomes, self-assembling nanoparticles and lipid nanoparticles. The scientific production is described in about 110 papers (H-index: 37) on international journals, 5 book chapters and different patent applications (with granted PCT, US and EU patent). One of the products patented and in development received the orphan designation by European Medicine Agency and by the Food and Drug Administration in 2016. For his research activity, G. De Rosa received different financial support, among them one by MIUR (Italian Minister for the University and Research), Ministero della Salute (Italian Minister of Health) and the Phospholipid Research Center of Heidelberg (Germany). G. De Rosa is member of the Editorial Board of different journals in the field of drug delivery and pharmaceutics. He also collaborates as referee with several international journals. G. De Rosa received different awards, among them the international ADRITELF award 2020, three awards by the Italian association of pharmaceutical industry (Associazione Farmaceutici Industria or AFI) for the best presented work during the Annual Symposyium AFI in June 2011 2013, and 2023, respectively. G. De Rosa is member of the Board ADRITELF, member of the Board of the Divisione di Tecnologia Farmaceutica – Società Chimica Italiana, and he was member of the Board of the Controlled Release Society (CRS) Italy Chapter.

Jesús Alberto Escarpa Miguel

Alberto Escarpa is a Full Professor at the University of Alcalá. His main research interests are focused on microfluidics and micromotors. He has co-authored more than 200 articles in leading international peer-reviewed journals, and several books, and book chapters. He has given several invited lectures in prestigious forums. He has been included in Stanford University's list of the 2% of the most cited scientists. His research has been highlighted as covered in Angewandte Chemie, Chemical Science, Nanoscale, and Analytical Chemistry. He is a member of the Editorial Advisory Board of Analytical Chemistry. He is the Editor in Chief for Microchimica Acta.

Albana Halili

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Albana (Ndreu) Halili completed her bachelor studies at the Department of Chemical Engineering and then successfully completed her MSc and PhD studies in the field of Biotechnology at Middle East Technical University/Turkey. Her main research focuses on biomaterials, tissue engineering, nanobiotechnology, materials science and recently biomedical imaging. Albana is the author and co-author of many research papers, mostly in the field of Biomaterials and Tissue Engineering and recently in Image Processing for medical applications. She is a member of many scientific European Societies and part of Editorial Boards of some international journals and conferences. During the last years in Albania, Dr. Halili has had a broad experience with project writing and management and also research such as Horizon2020 PanBiora Project, Cost Actions MP1206 and CA17140 and many Erasmus+ projects. She is also part of the Albanian NanoScience and Nanotechnology Unit (NanoAlb) created next to the Academy of Sciences of Albania. At the moment she holds the position of Deputy Rector of Western Balkans University in Albania.

Ahmed Jashari

Ahmed Jashari is an Associate Professor at the Group of Chemistry at the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics, University of Tetova, North Macedonia. He received his PhD degree in Organic Chemistry and Biochemistry at the Institute of Chemistry, University of Skopje. He was also enrolled as master student for one semester at the Faculty of Chemistry and Mineralogy, University of Leipzig, Germany, and few research stays at the same Faculty during his PhD. Finally, he was twice (DAAD and DFG awarded) post-doctoral fellow under supervision of Prof. Dr. Evamarie Hey-Hawkins working in the field of carborane chemistry as promising anticancer agents. His research interest is design and synthesis of small organic molecules with high anticancer activity, mainly based on coumarins, flavonoids and carboranes.

María Jesús Lobo Castañón

Dr. María Jesús Lobo-Castañón holds a PhD in Chemistry and leads the Electroanalysis research group at the University of Oviedo in Spain, which is also integrated in the Health Research Institute of Principado de Asturias (ISPA). Since 2017 she is Full Professor in Analytical Chemistry at said University. Her research interests focus on the development of electrochemical sensors for clinical diagnosis, using different molecular recognition elements, such as DNA and aptamers. She is (co)author of over 130 articles in leading international journals and various book chapters in that field.

Claudio Parolo

Prof. Claudio Parolo has 15 years of experience developing lateral flow immunoassays and electrochemical sensors for detecting clinically-relevant antibodies and antigens. He obtained his PhD under the supervision of Prof. Merkoçi at the Catalan Institute of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology working on the development of paper-based biosensing platforms. During the years he has worked at prestigious institutions including Harvard University, University College London, and the University of California, Santa Barbara. He has been awarded with several national and international research projects, fellowships (including a Marie Skłodowska Curie) and innovations awards. He has supervised 16+ master's and PhD students and served as a reviewer for 10+ Q1 peer-reviewed journals, the European Commission and scientific societies in France, Italy, and Uruguay. Currently he is an Assistant Research Professor at the Barcelona Institute for Global Health and his research focuses on the development of rapid tests for the diagnosis and prognosis of infectious diseases like malaria and dengue.

Prof. Rosario Pignatello is Full Professor of Pharmaceutical Technology and Legislation at the University of Catania. He is the actual Director of the Department of Drug and Health Sciences (DSFS). Dr. Daniel Quesada-González is a postdoctoral researcher at Nanobioelectronics and Biosensors group, in the Catalan Institute of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology, Spain. He has a MSc in Nanotechnology and Advanced Materials and a PhD in Chemistry, both from the Autonomous University of Barcelona. His main expertise is focused in the development of paper-based biosensors for diagnostic and environmental applications, a topic in which he has written 5 high-impact reviews in the recent years. Besides his academic career, Daniel worked as the Head of Product Development in the start-up Paperdrop Diagnostics during more than four years, broadening his point of view also towards the market and clinical needs.

Chiara Sinico is full professor in Pharmaceutical Technology at the University of Cagliari (CHIM/09, 03/D2) and member of the research group of Technology for Drug Delivery at the Department of Life and Environment Science. Her research focuses on the use of nanotechnologies for the development of pharmaceutical formulations. She has experience in the design, production and characterization of lipid-based vesicular carriers as delivery systems for topical, pulmonary, and injectable administration of drugs (synthetic molecules, biomacromolecules and herbal extracts). Recent studies focus on nanocrystals as tool for improving drug bioavailability. A further evolution of these research topics concerns the combination of nanoparticles with medical devices (e.g. needle-free jet injectors) to improve drug efficacy as well as patient compliance. She is author of more than 100 peer-reviewed papers (H index 38, citations ⁓4600, Scopus), 3 book chapters, 1 patent on the use of lipid-based nanocarriers for the delivery of adrenaline in the treatment of cardiac arrest and 1 patent application on photosensitizers for skin cancer. She has been supervisor of 4 PhD students. She presented results of her research activity in almost 80 national and international meeting and schools with 18 oral contributions including several invited lectures/seminars and more that 80 poster presentations. She is involved in the activities of the main scientific societies in the field of drug delivery, as a member of the executive board of SFML (Società Farmaceutica del Mediterraneo Latino-Italian Group) and member of the past executive board CRS (Controlled Release Society)-Italy Chapter and as auditor of ADRITELF (Italian Association of Professors and Researchers in Pharmaceutical Technologies and Law).
